Return Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
Stone sales are final except for qualifying incorrect material, fulfillment errors or rights required by applicable law. All returns require written approval from Rock Bottom Stone before material is shipped or taken back. This policy applies to orders placed on or after its effective date.
Natural stone varies
Natural stone is not a manufactured, uniform product. Color shades, veining, mineral markings, texture, surface character and naturally occurring edges can vary between individual pieces, pallets, quarry batches and later orders. Dimensions and thickness may vary within the tolerances stated in the item description. These normal variations are not defects or reasons for a return.
Photos and samples illustrate the product; they cannot show every piece or the full range of variation. Lighting, camera settings, screens, moisture, dust and sealers can change how stone appears. We do not guarantee an exact match to a photo, sample, prior purchase or existing installation. A difference in shade within the described basic color family does not qualify as incorrect material. This does not excuse delivery of a different stone type, a substantially different basic color family or material outside expressly stated specifications.
What qualifies for review
- The delivered material is not the basic stone type identified in the accepted order description.
- The delivered material is substantially outside the basic color family stated in that description, beyond normal natural variation.
- RBS or the quarry supplied the wrong product, size or finish, or material that fails an expressly agreed specification.
- A documented fulfillment error, shortage or delivery damage makes the affected material nonconforming. A shortage may be resolved by supplying the missing quantity or refunding that portion; it does not automatically qualify the entire order for return.
What does not qualify
We do not accept returns for a change of mind, personal color preference within the described range, overordering, unused leftovers, project cancellation or delay, a later design change, or failure to verify suitability for your project. Normal natural variation or a difference from photographs alone does not qualify. Damage caused by customer handling, storage, cutting, installation, chemicals or use does not qualify as a supplier error.
Inspect and report before use
Inspect the delivery promptly and before cutting, mixing, installing or using the stone. Note visible discrepancies on the delivery record when possible, photograph the material and packaging, and keep labels and order records. Contact RBS as soon as you discover an issue. Stop using the affected material and keep it separate and available for inspection. Do not continue installation of material with a known discrepancy and expect a return for that material.
Email info@rockbottomstone.com with your order number, affected product and quantity, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the overall load, individual pieces, labels and damage. RBS may request additional evidence or an inspection. Concealed problems and rights that cannot lawfully be limited remain subject to applicable law.
Approval and return arrangements
Do not send stone to RBS or a quarry without written return instructions. RBS will review the order description and evidence and confirm the approved quantity, destination, handling and transport arrangements in writing. Keep approved return material unused and safely accessible, in its original packaging where practical. Unapproved shipments or refusal of an otherwise correct delivery do not create a right to a refund.
Corrections, costs and refunds
For a verified RBS or quarry error, we will arrange an appropriate correction, replacement or refund for the affected material, subject to your applicable legal rights. RBS will arrange and cover reasonable approved return transportation for that error; no restocking fee applies to an approved error return. Do not incur transport or other expenses without written agreement.
When a refund is approved, it covers the affected material and applicable tax, together with delivery charges attributable to the verified error as appropriate. Unaffected, correctly supplied material is not automatically refundable. We will confirm the refund amount and any required return or inspection steps in writing. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after those steps are completed; your payment provider controls when the credit appears. Installation, removal and other project expenses are not automatically reimbursed; applicable legal rights remain unchanged.
Failed unloading is not a product return
You must provide the agreed safe delivery access and suitable unloading equipment. Inability to unload correct material does not make it eligible for return or cancel the order. Actual documented carrier waiting and return-delivery charges, with no RBS markup, are handled under the Shipping Policy and the authorization given at checkout.
Questions and legal rights
Contact info@rockbottomstone.com or 501-594-3795 before ordering if the description or expected variation is unclear. Nothing in this policy removes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law, or changes an existing accepted order retroactively.
