From Estimate to Order
These are planning estimates, not structural design or a final order quantity.
Builders stone is full-bed stone about four inches thick, and quarries sell it by the ton. A ton of stone four inches wide covers about 40 square feet of wall face. Thin veneer covers far more wall per ton, and this calculator does not apply to it.
Multiply the length of the wall by its height in feet. Subtract the area of any windows or doors. Measure each wall face on its own and add the faces together.
The calculator estimates the stone face only. A retaining wall also needs a footing and drainage behind it. Confirm the full wall system with your installer.
